I groan, as I’m suddenly woken from a deep sleep. My waker, a fairy coloured blue, bumps into me again, and informs me that her name is Navi, and that she is my fairy now. Navi informs me that I must go visit the Great Deku Tree. I rub my tired eyes, and stand up, wondering what the Great Tree wants of me.
I walk out of my tree house into the lush, green Kokiri Forest. The air tastes sweet, as if it had just rained, and fairies and butterflies zip past. To my right, I can see the tops of the Great Deku Tree, towering above all other trees in the forest.
All of a sudden, I hear a voice! Down below, my good friend Saria calls to me. I climb down the ladder, and tell her of my newfound fairy, Navi, and how she is taking me to the Great Deku Tree. Saria is excited, and encourages me onwards, glad that I have, at last, gotten a fairy of my own. I wander down the path to my right. Friends call me as I stroll past, excited about Navi. Navi zips around each of their heads, attracting my attention.
To my left, I see a bright blue stream bubbling along. It feeds into a small pond that lies in my path. I hop across the little islands in the pond, and land on the other side, in front of the entrance to the clearing where the Great Deku Tree lives. But standing in my way…
